Green energy? You mean the less inefficient and twice as expensive energy. A gallon of gas is cheaper than a gallon of milk. We will not run out of oil anytime soon.

    and the US what?

  4. kfjsjkf1 says:

funny how they only named the right winged governments + Brasil, super biased report

  5. RuniTravel says:

    > They did NOT “only” mention the right winged governments … But right winged governments are by nature more oriented to invest in capitalism so they will perforce do better with regard to GDP … This is basic economics, no matter if the policy is right or wrong… I think it is your comment that is “super biased”, and not the report itself … Did you actually bother watching the whole clip ? Most of it is about investment in social development… Runi

  6. kfjsjkf1 says:

“right winged governments are by nature more oriented to invest in capitalism so they will perforce do better with regard to GDP” sorry mate but that’s nonsense. Look at what happened in Argentina during the period from 1976-2001. We opened our economy, we imported many products that where manufactured here before and thousands of our national companys had to close, the state companys were privatized, we were becoming far more dependant on commodities whit no added value like soybean

  7. kfjsjkf1 says:

Today things have slightly changed… But look what’s going in Chile, their economy depends on copper, their industrial base is not very diversified… they have one of the most unequal educational system (actually thousands of students are struggling right now demanding public/free university) and anyway they keep being praised by the hegemonic media troughout the world. Sorry if my english is incorrect I’m not fluent.

  8. RuniTravel says:

    > nothing wrong with your English or your articulation & nothing wrong with your statement.. Its true & Chile has for some reason been favoured by Britain & USA since Pinochet times.. Maybe even longer since I hear its a great retirement place for ex-Nazis.. Just too bad I don’t have blue eyes.. Anyway, Chile is a great example for the whole Latin American problem … Pity I have no chance in politics, because as President of Perú I would move reforms to create a Pan-American Union..

  9. kfjsjkf1 says:

The panamerican union died during the FTAA summit held in Mar del Plata, Arg. Most of the southamerican countries were against it. We do have the UNASUR (southamerican union), which is becoming more important these days. About the nazis, that’s yank propaganda, the USA received far more nazis during the post war than Chile and Argentina. Nice to talk whit someone whit an open mind, greetings.

  10. RuniTravel says:

    > again correct, but USA (& Russia) got the interesting guys (like Werner von Braun) & also the other interesting ones (like Albert Einstein) … all the “rubbish” was shipped to Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, etc… The “Pan-American Unions” so far failed because they were built on bad foundations… The USA Model will never work in Latin-America & the EU model does not even work within Europe … We don’t need to copy bad examples, we are better than that & I envisage great fortunes…

  11. RuniTravel says:

    > One point that was not mentioned here, & this is part of the reports bias, is that Latin America was not invited to take part in the Wests “Hedge-Fund Feeding Frenzy”.. while USA, UK and other Western Countries were secretly investing in dodgy hedge funds, Latin America was still doing banking the old fashioned way.. The good thing is that when the banks in the rest of the world collapsed, the Latin American investments remained free of debt & then rising commodity prices helped…

  12. drazenkoj1990 says:

Another thing is if Latin America had low crime I think the tourism would also grow much higher than it is now…even though it’s already good. But I’ve seen pictures from Latin America some parts look like they have amazing natural beauty…I would definitely love for things to get much better.

  13. RuniTravel says:

    > working on it, but right now you had better get advise from your embassy for tourist locations … Runi

  14. florhh14 says:

that’s what people think, but also it’s not like that. in my country we always say it’s very insecure.. but if we compair crime rates from the capital city are lower than the rates from London, england.. for example.

  15. mralanv says:

That’s one of the reasons. Although I’d say there are other reasons which usually go unnoticed. I can speak for my country, Brazil. One of the problems that tourists will find here is the lack of services in English. Crime is really high in Rio and Sao Paolo they make detroit look like a playground. However, down south it’s much safer, I’m from southern brazil and it’s much safer and friendly than the northern parts of the country. as for other countries i don’t no

  16. mralanv says:

Yeah but the main reason as to why the continent is doing economically well is because of Chinese investments. That’s it. Even though most South American countries are doing well, their social development still remains really low. I think it will still take a few more decades until the continent has shrugged off the scars brought by Spanish and Portuguese rule.

  17. TheCaptainjuicy says:

Yeah, finally we are growing while, in Hispania region, spain and portugal are slightly doing bad. Lol karma

  18. RuniTravel says:

… Well, you reap what you grow … I remember all the killed, burnt & tortured …

  19. dancerlabe1 says:

    great documentary!

  20. strictlaw says:
