Getting pretty strident against the GOP lately. Remember, NAFTA and GATT
were passed with Democratic Party majorities, and under a Democratic
president. The only reasons Social Security isn’t “affecting” the deficit
are 1) it’s an “off-the-books” expense not counted in annual numbers and 2)
the tidal wave of Boomers retiring hasn’t fully hit yet. Free Trade is a
major source of borrowing, but millionaires have no right to SocSec
insurance OR Medicaid, and means-testing MUST be part of a solution

“Almost all economists agree”… I’m sorry, what economists have made such
    nonsensical remarks?

Bill Clinton supported NAFTA but it was Republican votes that passed it in
the House of Representatives. There are certainly many pro-free trade
Democrats but nearly all Republicans in Congress support free trade. The
projected Social Security shortfall could be fixed easily by lifting the
cap on Social Security taxes. Currently only the first 106K of income is
subject to Social Security taxes. The cap needs to be raised to at least
500K and that would fix Social Security.

China slaves are not lowering the pay of seniors 80% like is happening to
the workers. or 100 % in most cases. SS today pays MORE than a full time
    job and they DO NOTHING>
