Credit Card Debt Relief Options – How To Legally Avoid Paying Back Unsecured Credit Card Debt

Author: pollstump

There are multiple credit card debt relief options and the best thing about these options is that they are all legal. However, the best among all these methods is the method of debt settlement which eliminates the debt of the consumers by at least 50% and often up to 70% without hampering the credit score of the consumer. When the settlement is over, the credit history of the consumer becomes clean and the consumer is looked upon as a prime consumer.

In order to legally avoid paying back unsecured credit card debt, it is necessary that a consumer must have an overall credit card debt of $10,000 at least. Also, it is necessary that the consumer takes appropriate measure to collect the debt in one card instead of leaving it spread over multiple cards. When the debt is spread over multiple cards, settlement process cannot work and even if it works, the time and cost will go beyond expectations which is not a good thing.

The consumers are always advised to select a settlement firm for the purpose of negotiation with the creditor. The reason for such an advice is that the settlement firms are professionals and their negotiators dealing with the creditors know exactly how to approach and what to say. They know how the banking system works and they know what to say to the creditors to make the creditors agree for settlement deal.

When a consumer hires a firm, the negotiator from the firm takes over and advises the consumer to go delinquent. Upon delinquency two things happen. The creditor gets the message that the consumer is not going to pay any more and that the creditor decides to hire a collection agency for debt recovery. The delinquency of the consumer is supported by a letter from the negotiator which informs the lender that the debtor is not in a position to repay the credit card bills in full and that consumer is looking for a settlement.

The creditor decides to wait for 3-4 moths instead of immediately handing over the debt to a collection and when during that period there are no payments from the debtor, the lender hires a collection agency. The rate at which the lender agrees to hire the agency is a loss for the lender because the collection agency retains 70-80 cents per dollar retrieved from the debtor. At this point, the creditor receives a call from the negotiator or the later visits the creditor directly and offers 30-50 cents per dollar on the condition that the remaining is eliminated.

A threat of bankruptcy is used by the negotiator to make the lender agree to the offer and once the lender agrees, a new agreement is signed between the lender and the borrower. The borrower then repays the remaining amount of the credit card bill either in bulk or over 6 months.

With the new FTC laws recently passed, debt settlement is a legitimate alternative to filing bankruptcy. Creditors are ready to negotiate and now you won’t have to pay a fee unless your debts actually settle.

The Most Important Business Multipliers

#1: Mastermind Power

One of the secret strengths of Maui Millionaires is the power of the mastermind. A mastermind group is a group of two or more people who come together to work on a common goal in the spirit of focused harmony and trust, where all members benefit. The skill of masterminding is so essential that we devoted an entire section of our last book, The Maui Millionaires, to it.

Level Three business owners have learned that they don’t have all the best answers or ideas. But they have cultivated a huge advantage in the marketplace — multiple mastermind partners in various areas that they can turn to for ideas, input, accountability, and support.

We recommend five mastermind groups to maximize the growth for your company. They are:
Within your company. This is your inside team. The mastermind principle is how you unify, focus, engage, and unleash your team to accomplish the work of your business. For a small company, this may include one group of all team members. For a large company, this may entail multiple groups in various areas of the business, each trained in how to use the mastermind principle to get great results.
With key industry players. Form a mastermind group with people outside your company who are in your industry. This could include your vendors, companies that provide complementary services or products, or perhaps even competitors. Just think of the range of ideas and potential joint ventures that you could get from a mastermind group like this!
Outside board of advisors. Successful business owners know they need input from quality business people outside of their industry and outside of their immediate financial world. Consider forming a mastermind group with like-minded achievers to help each other succeed and live at your best.
Your family. Bring your family into your business life by masterminding with them on a regular basis (perhaps monthly or quarterly). Not only will they understand better the things you are experiencing in your business life, but by involving them in your business goals they will feel a part of what you do. This means they will support you and also, when needed, hold you accountable to not let your business grow out of proportion to the real values that you hold.
Your hired team. Finally, every entrepreneur needs a team of talented professionals (CPAs, attorneys, insurance agents, brokers, etc.) who can advise you as you build your business. Use the mastermind principle to more effectively get the input and guidance you need from your hired team.

Business Multiplier #2: Your Client Base

Your client base is probably the most valuable business asset that you have. Does your business treat your client base with honor, respect, and integrity? If the answer is yes, then over time your business will grow and thrive. If not, your business will never last over time.

Yet how do many businesses treat their most valuable asset? Like a database to be strip-mined for maximum value. The people and relationships you’ve built are more than just data. They are the heart and soul of your business.

One clue as to how a business views its clients is what it calls them. Are they called “customers” or “clients?” Do they end up in a database or a client base? While this may seem like a minor distinction, in our experience the mindset behind it makes a huge difference. A customer is someone to sell to; a client is someone to care for. Databases die, go stale, or move on. Client bases grow as communities thrive. If you remember to always put your client’s needs in front of yours, you’ll find you have the secret ingredient to build that client relationship.

Business Multiplier #3: Creativity

Creativity is that priceless ingredient that can solve any problem, turn around any business situation, and enhance any business. It’s one of the most underutilized business multipliers, yet the creativity you harness in your company literally can take your company to the top of your industry overnight.

Consider eBay® for a minute. It began in September 1995, and the very first item sold was a broken laser pointer for $14.83. That’s when founder Pierre Omidyar knew he was on to something. Over the past decade, by tapping into its teams’ and its clients’ creativity it has become one of the most powerful marketplaces in the world. In fact, it’s now the 17th largest world economy!

Creativity is what made that all happen. Creativity is what can exponentially grow your business. You don’t need more money, you don’t need the perfect marketplace, you need to unleash the creative genius held idle in your company. How best to free it up? Combine your creativity with the mastermind principle.

Business Multiplier #4: Character

Your character magnifies you. It helps you be your best self and it’s an essential ingredient in leading and influencing others. In essence, your character is that part inside you that keeps you moving toward your dreams even after the blush of the initial excitement has worn away.

There are four parts of your character we want to highlight. First is integrity — the way you honor your word. Since all business relationships are predicated on trust, you will never succeed on the scale you dream unless you are impeccable with your word. Also, to build lasting success means you live your life in accord with your most deeply held values and principles.

Second comes passion — the fuel that takes you to your dreams. We’ve already shared how we believe that every entrepreneur must find a meaningful way to connect his or her passion to their business in order to be wealthy. But understand that passion is also the fire inside you that warms your team, your vendors, and your clients to your business’ vision. And when it burns brightly it is a contagious source of exponential power.

Third comes courage — the steel that keeps you moving forward even when you are scared to death. And all entrepreneurs reach multiple points when they are scared to death. Yet it’s your job to learn to act in the presence of your fears.

Finally, there is faith — the gossamer quality that brings deep meaning into your business. Understand this: If your business exists only for the money you will never be wealthy. You may become rich but never wealthy. Enduring wealth comes from deep meaning and that takes faith. Faith is also the secret to enduring peace of mind. It’s the real foundation for business and life success. And, just as you do with courage, you also have a faith muscle that expands with exercise and use.

Business Multiplier #5:
Your Business Skills

There are certain skills that may generically be applied across any business, which when mastered, will create real value in your business. Here is a list of six skills that we think are essential to business success.
Leadership — Your ability to create a coherent business vision, inspire others to join you over time, and empower your business to willingly accept and embrace change.
Negotiation — Your ability to uncover complementary needs and reach mutually profitable agreements.
Time mastery — Your ability to maximize your time, to manage priorities and conflicting demands, and achieve a harmony in what you do (and choose not to do).
Salesmanship — Your ability to influence the way people perceive a given situation and to sell a dream, a product, a service, an opportunity, or a course of action.
Financial Fluency — Your ability to speak the five languages of financial fluency and move in the world of money, wealth, and business with grace and ease.
Emotional Fluency — Your ability to understand emotions, yours and other peoples’, and to be able to connect, engage, and, when needed, manage emotions.
So there you have the five business multipliers. Remember you can apply these universal leverage points in any business, in any industry, in any marketplace, in any country, to make your business succeed faster.

Keep your Engine’s Temperature Regulated With your Mercedes Thermostat

Author: Dwyane Thomas

Before plunging in to something physically exhausting, we usually have the saying “warm-up first.” The same is true with your car. Before it goes running, the engine needs to warm-up first. The engine does this with the aid of the thermostat.

The Mercedes thermostat is basically a small device about two inches in diameter that is located between the engine and the radiator. It houses a temperature-sensitive valve which opens and closes based off coolant temperature.

Its main function is to act as the temperature regulator of your car’s cooling system. It does this by blocking the flow of coolant to the radiator until the engine has warmed up. When the engine is cold, no coolant flows through the engine. The general operating temperature of an engine is about 200 degrees Fahrenheit, or 95 degrees Celsius. Once the engine reaches this, the thermostat opens. Hot coolant flows away from the engine and into the radiator to cool off. Seconds later, it returns to the engine to absorb more heat. By performing this function, the thermostat reduces engine wear, deposits and emissions.

But what lies beneath the Mercedes thermostat? Inside the thermostat is a small cylinder located on the engine-side of the device. This cylinder is filled with a wax that begins to melt at 180 degrees Fahrenheit. A rod connected to the valve presses into this wax. When the wax melts, it expands significantly and pushes the rod out of the cylinder, opening the valve. It is however important to note that different thermostats open at different temperatures.

Having a faulty Mercedes thermostat can pose more risks to your vehicle that you have ever imagined. Normally, small parts such as these are taken for granted. But once your thermostat fails, be ready for bigger problems, especially with your engine. If a thermostat fails, hot coolant becomes trapped inside the engine and quickly overheats. This will cause problems like low heater output, overheating, poor fuel economy, knocking or pinging when accelerating, high idle speed, an electric cooling fan that runs continuously, and low temperature gauge readings. It can even cause you to fail your emissions test.

To keep your Mercedes thermostat fully functional, it is recommended to flush your radiator and to change your coolant twice a year. This may be the first step to prevent future engine damage repairs.

Educating Schools, Parents and Kids About the Environment

Author: Kristin Gabriel
Summertime is here and kids are out of school, so it is the perfect time for parents and kids to get serious about our environment and keeping it a safe and beautiful place to enjoy for many years to come.

According to a recent article in THE Journal by Chris Riedel entitled, “Green Schools: The Color of Money” school districts have finally discovered that going green can mean financial rewards.

It is not just about turning off lights, changing light bulbs or shutting off idle computers — it is about rethinking the way things are done at every level from companies, to schools, or even at home.

Schools need to analyze everything from natural gas and electricity use to heating and air conditioning systems, along with maintenance and construction procedures. It is important for any organization to develop long-term plans.

The Taunton Public Schools called in a group known as Energy Education, who helps develop energy conservation programs for U.S. school districts with the goal of converting dollars spent on energy to dollars spent on education. Tis group was retained to help find ways to decrease its energy consumption and their bottom line.

One interesting example mentioned in the article; typical school vending machines cost up to $450 a year to run, but by using a motion sensor that shuts down the machine’s compressor when there is no activity, schools can save up to two-thirds with each machine, and most schools districts have from 40 to 50 vending machines.

In just two years, the Energy Education program helped Taunton save more than $660,000 in energy costs, including costs on electricity, natural gas, fuel oil, and water. Everything from disabling vending machine lights to managing irrigation played a role in savingsand our environment.

Students everywhere in schools across the country are also beginning to get the message about taking responsibility for helping to save the planet. To help parerets out, following is a list of environmentally inspired websites for kids to take a look at this summer:

Environmental Education for Kids is an online magazine for grades four to eight created by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, which has short articles and activities about animals, and plants.

– EPA Student Center – This Environmental Protection Agency site includes information on a wide range of environmental issues. Kids can click on “Fun Activities” to play environmental games.

– Be, Live, Buy Different – A project of the World Wildlife Fund and the Center for a New American Dream, the site was created to inform young people about how everything we buy and use affects biodiversity. Take the Buy-O-Diversity Quiz!

– The Green Squad – An NRDC website that’s also available in Spanish shows you how to identify and solve environmental problems. You can can explore a colorful virtual school room by room, and use the mouse to locate potential hazards. Teachers and parents will find the site useful as it offers a wide range of resources.

– The Greens – Izz and Dex are green animated characters that not only have green skin, but they have lots of great ideas about protecting the planet. Visit this site to watch short cartoons about environmental issues Nature Challenge for Kids.

Nature Challenge for Kids – a David Suzuki Foundation website place for all kinds of fun activities starting with ten simple ways you can protect nature.

Remember to join community projects this summer in your town to help pick up garbage at the beach, or simply at a nearby park. Teaching our children about the importance of the environment is a job that both parents and teachers must share — at home and at school.
