James Bond – On Her Majesty’s Secret Service soundtrack FULL ALBUM

Thank you for posting this lesser known (or popular JB soundtrack). OHMSS
did not achieve the success of the previous five JB mostly because people
where under the shock of not seeing Sean Connery impersonating 007. It is
sad because because Saltzman & Broccoli had united the perfect staff for
this production (writers, location, script, props, editing, & most of all
John Barry’s marvelous musical talent). Diana Rigg was a good match
(companion) for 007 but people were not ready for the change.
If Sean had been in it it would have the best JB hands down
I’m not entirely convinced of that. The longer Connery was in the role, the
more he switched into auto-pilot mode and his performances lacked the
emotional depth which was required in “OHMSS”. Despite his lack of acting
experience, Lazenby gave a good performance in this film. Compared to
Connery’s going-through-the-motions effort in “Diamonds Are Forever”, he
just didn’t have the interest in playing Bond anymore and it showed.
Still the Best Bond Film…And Score….
Couldn’t agree more.
Seriously? Emotional depth was the biggest thing Lazenby lacked… he was
so wooden! A total stiff.
It makes my eyes wet every time when I listen to “We have all the time in
the world”.
Not when it came to the final scene which he nailed. I don’t think Connery
would have been able to show that level of vulnerability as an actor Bond
is a shattered man. His wife the only woman he professed to loving has been
murdered and he’s holding her lifeless body in her arms saying to her that
they have all the time in the world Good acting from a guy who wasn’t an
actor. The rest of his performance is still passable enough when you take
into consideration his complete lack of experience
Maybe that’s how it is for you, but even if it were true that he nailed the
last scene, it wouldn’t have made up for everything else.
Exactly… he wasn’t an actor, and had no experience to speak of. He never
even should have been cast in such an important role to begin with for that
reason alone.
This is the best Bond score in the series. The Diamonds score seemed to
just revert back to the wonky sounds of some of Barry’s earlier scores.
This was his foray into the more emotive sounds that you hear in
“Octopussy”, “A View To A Kill”, and “The Living Daylights.” I’ll take
those over “Goldfinger” any day.
40:30 – 41:03 = amazing! What’s the number of this one on the disk?
It was their loss, because OHMSS is a TRIUMPH and a TOUR DE FORCE. That
script, the character development, the climaxes, and that fantastic score.
You can say what you will about Goldfinger but this score is Barry’s best
of the Bond films.
I always pity the poor fools who stayed away (and stil do) from this supreb
film. Lazenby had some large shoes to fill (granted) but did folks believe
that Sean would go on forever? Now the public accepts that actors will
change every decade or so. One final note: Daniel Craig was not welcomed
with open arms when he took over the roll from the ever popular Pierce
Brosnan but he quickly won audiences over. I only regret that George never
took that multi picture deal back in 1968…
I think this was the high water mark of the Barry scores. Though Goldfinger
was his presonal favorite, OHMSS is definitely tops. The later scores did
not carry the wallop of the earlier films with this one being the “pick of
the litter”.
i wish you either cut the whole soundtrack or put the titles in
chronological order _ starting times in the description..im just looking
for 1 song.
If your source is CD quality, can we have an HD upload?
At the very least, this score’s superiority is absolutely unquestioned.
great score for john barry
the best soundtrack ever of all bond movies :)
The best scores are the ones that start at 5:22, one of the best chase
musics ever 6:30, 12:26, 29:20, 32:32, 49:29, 54:30, 56:09, 58:58, 1:12:54,
1:17:49
My opinion ,this is John Barry’s best 007 soundtrack . Also one my favorite
007 movies . This movie and From Russia with love were the only ones that
stuck to the novel .
